He has worked with churches in Iowa, Alabama, Mississippi, Kentucky and Kansas. He attended Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas and Regions University in Montgomery, Alabama where he graduated with a BA in Bible.The year following his high school graduation in 1965, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served for six years. After his discharge from the regular Air Force, he enlisted in the Air National Guard where he served for several years.
